Ringing Register

I wish I could get you out of there
All of us
That no one had to deal with this mundane life
But particularly you
With that brilliant mind
Ringing register again
Stuck in commute traffic
And I get it
Stability pulls you to its bosom
I've been there
And the water is terribly choppy out here
A lot of the time
And sometimes you feel like you'll go mad
So I don't blame you
But you'll lose your sanity
Doing endless spreadsheets too
So you might as well join those of us
Hanging on by a thread
Pensions and healthcare be damned
There's only one shot
And flailing and maybe failing
Is not so much worse than boredom
Afterall
But you could surprise yourself
You might even succeed
